Kangaroos Alive - Calling out the worlds largest slaughter of land-based wildlife.

Writer's picture: Advocating WildAdvocating Wild

The killing of Kangaroos in Australia is a government-sanctioned industry that allows the commercial slaughter of over 1.6 million Kangaroos per year for profit. Kangaroos Alive is a nationally accredited not for profit organisation and a global movement for the ethical treatment of Kangaroos.

Kangaroos Alive are set to launch a global declaration that will demand immediate and decisive action to adopt a moratorium on the commercial killing of Kangaroos and to cease the commercial trade of their body parts.

Advocating Wild actively supports this global declaration to be launched early in October 2024. For more information please visit the website of Kangaroos Alive here.

* Advocating Wild supports the stance that wild animals should not be bought or sold

or used in public interactions, performances or theatrical shows. Wildlife should not be bred unless part of a conservation breeding programme in which the animals involved are being responsibly released back into the wild.

Advocating wild understands that on occasion wild animals may require human intervention and/or care and that sometimes it might not be possible to return those animals to their natural habitat. Those animals should be provided only genuine sanctuary where they are kept in conditions that meet their species specific needs in a natural way.
